Unlike any other luxury product, there is no experience that matches having a bespoke suit made. You cannot go to a cigar maker and ask them to blend their leaves differently. You cannot go to a vineyard and ask for more of a certain grape to be added to their next vintage. You cannot design your own car or watch from the ground up. You are not just building a garment, but a relationship.

Your taste and emotions are paramount in this experience. We depend on the customer to interact with us and give us input. That said, we are trusted by the most important men in the world to give them the right advice. After all, we Make Clothing For Men Taken Seriously.

At Paolo Martorano Bespoke, style is characterized by something Martorano himself terms New York Refined.

Paolo spent his formative years studying the finest aspects of elite tailoring, as practiced in the world’s most vibrant city, by an international cadre of gifted craftsmen hailing from the UK, European continent, and Asia. He recognized that more than a century of extraordinary work by diverse artisans, in this global capital, had produced a remarkable alchemy. Once Martorano established his eponymously named atelier, he leveraged this richly rendered amalgam of sartorial influences to define the Paolo Martorano Bespoke experience.

With a tradition of meticulous measurement, custom paper pattern, and basted fitting protocols that define the very best classic Bespoke process, Paolo has emerged the go-to tailor for a cohort of discerning men who, in in his words, take dressing seriously.

Whether the client is an elite international business professional, public servant, or cultural luminary who expects unassailable correctness in his wardrobe or a member of an emerging generation of sharp-dressed men craving a uniquely collaborative process and a timely delivery schedule, both customer categories find their True North at Paolo Martorano Bespoke.

Paolo has worked virtually exclusively in the Bespoke category; first with the legendary Alan Flusser, next at the storied retailer Paul Stuart (where he helped quadruple their made-to-measure and Bespoke operations) then ultimately as the Director of Bespoke and made-to-measure for North America at Dunhill. He holds a degree in Textile Engineering and is privately trained in Pattern Making.

In 2017, at the urging of several customers, he took, by his own admission, the “immense step” of starting his own label.

It’s a bit of an oxymoron: Bespoke tailored clothing – often depicted as the exclusive province of pedigreed, patinated, elder statesmen in foulards and signet rings – is fast becoming a must-have for modern customers of means who want more than athleisure and jeans in their wardrobe. One youthful acolyte is embracing the rigor, heritage and artistry of Savile Row, while also paying homage to the ease and sprezzatura expressed by the best of Italy’s bench made tailoring titans.

Although Paolo’s passion began to form when he was just a child, it is a calling informed by long family heritage in fine tailoring.

Today, Paolo Martorano Bespoke hews to the tradition of “meticulous measurement,” “custom paper pattern” and “basted fitting” protocols that define the very best classic Bespoke process, which for generations has been the gold standard of a hand-made garment. In this way, Martorano has earned the respect of international power players looking for unassailable sartorial correctness.

At the same time, he has also cultivated a following amongst a new generation of sharp-dressed men, who crave not only the personalization and expertise that signifies the craftsmanship, but who expect a uniquely collaborative experience.

Martorano’s experience in the custom-clothing business in New York means he has been able to successfully access the best individual pattern makers, cutters and master tailors in the city and environs.

His deep scholarship of and appreciation for premium quality fabrics and artisanal trimmings from the world’s finest mills, elevate details such as lapels, facings and buttonholes to architectural-level infrastructure.

Over the years Paolo has dressed the actors Brian Cox, George Hamilton, and Jeremy Jordan; the musicians John Pizzarelli and Ron Carter; Tom Keene of Bloomberg Television; Steven Kandarian, former Chairman and CEO of MetLife; the late Jay Fishman, former Chairman and CEO of Travelers; and the Fanjul family.
